On Saturday, September 3, after a three-year break caused by the covid pandemic, we held our traditional and popular event called VAFO Family Day. Nearly 780 colleagues from our production plants in the Czech Republic and their families gathered at the VAFO headquarters in Chrášťany, Prague. The program catered to all age categories and encouraged the attendees to meet and enjoy a pleasant day together. There was even a live band and amazing refreshments, including unconventional insect-protein delicacies.
The last VAFO Family Day took place in 2019 in Číčenice, where at the time the company was opening a new plant, and all members of the VAFO family in the Czech Republic had an opportunity to see the unique new technology used in the production of fresh-meat granules. This year, too, those who were interested could look inside the production lines, warehouses, and other facilities at the plant in Chrášťany, which is where the VAFO story began.
According to the head of the VAFO family, Pavel Bouška, the day and the exciting program was a way of thanking VAFO colleagues and their families for all the wonderful things the company has accomplished. Jakub Majer, CEO VAFO PRAHA, shared in that sentiment in a speech in which he aptly observed that we are a family not only of extraordinary pet foods but also of extraordinary people.
